"We Haven't Finished Yet"

I wish I could give you the world

I wish I could give you my heart on a silver platter

I wish I could make your smile shine as golden as before

I wish I could help dry the tears

Just as you've done for me then & as you will do all these years to come

You've been my teacher, my provider, my therapist, my hero & so much more

Hoping one day I can be the person you envisioned me to be

I wish I could give you the stars

I wish I could send you the moon

I wish I could have the sun hug you so there would be no more cold or lonely nights

I wish I could erase those grey clouds

take those clouds & make them white again

Turn the rain into a rainbow

I wish I had the world to give

I wish I could give you back the strength you gave me...plus more

I wish I could find a way to say thank you for all that you have done

I wish I could do for you what you have done for me

But because I can't, because I wouldn't know where to start

I think just saying thank you for being my mom & this poem is a good way with my heart

Taking it a day at a time & step by step

It's easy to say

"We haven't finished yet"
